To provide a comfortable, non-competitive approach to yoga that honors each individual’s path to health, self-discovery, well-being, and a balanced life.
We believe that yoga is for everyone, and strive to provide a safe space that welcomes creativity, and encourages community. We strive to support and encourage our students, with compassion and respect.Open Space Yoga operates in an environmentally responsible manner.
In April 2005 Open Space Yoga opened in the heart of Ladner Village on Delta Street. The local community instantly embraced us and our space and has been voted by the local Community as ‘Best Fitness Facility’ in Ladner for the last 9 years in The Delta Optimist Readers Choice Awards.
When we first opened we started with 2 mandates that still exist today:
- To create a safe space where ANYBODY, no matter what age, size or sex could benefit from the practice in a safe, non-intimidating mindful way.
- To be part of, and give back to our wonderful Community.
On the Community front we have raised thousands of dollars for local causes that they believe in such as The Delta Hospice Society, We also end our year with Christmas Candlelight Classes raising money and food for The South Delta Food Bank. This has become a favourite for their students and instructors who all generously donate their time and efforts.
Several of our instructors have been with us since day one and we have now grown to a team of 12. “We feel so very blessed to have such amazing teachers. Each one brings their own skills, training and care to their classes and all teach in a mindful, safe, egoless way” says owner Michael Rudd.
Open Space Yoga started running 12 classes a week and now have expanded to 21 classes including a new B-Workout Fitness Class. No registration is required to attend classes except for our Workshops and the very popular 8 week Beginner 101 Yoga course which has sold out every 2 months for the last 10 years.
We invite you to come and try Open Space Yoga out for yourself!
