Yoga Therapy is a holistic approach to healing. Rooted in the science of traditional Yoga and the Ayurveda system, it focuses on health and wellness at all levels: physical, psychological, and spiritual. The path of Yoga serves as a healing journey that brings balance to the body and mind. In this workshop, we will explore what applied Yoga Therapy is and how it can help address various conditions (i.e., physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual).
This workshop will focus on one specific condition: chronic pain. We will discuss how therapeutic Yoga can support those living with chronic pain in their daily lives. Through educational teaching, grounding practices, pranayama (breathing techniques), therapeutic movements, relaxation practices, and sound healing (vibration), we will explore how to fully experience our body sensations and reconnect with our body. This will enable us to befriend our body and, in turn, reclaim it.
